In May of 2004 the Merced Theatre Foundation selected the firm Wenell Mattheis Bowe Architects of Stockton, California to perform a comprehensive review of the Theatre. Structural, mechanical and electrical systems were evaluated as well as a thorough analysis of theatre systems. The Merced Theatre Renovation Study was completed in September 2004 and provides the Foundation with the technical information and cost analysis needed to proceed with fund raising and ongoing restoration efforts. To view a list of consultants included in the Design Team click here. The following drawings are from the Renovation Study and show the proposed restoration. When the restoration is complete there will be approximately 1,100 seats (20" - 21" wide). State-of-the- art lighting and sound systems will be incorporated into the original architectural scheme. The new plan also includes additional toilet facilities and will meet all current accessibility standards.
