January 31, 2012 - State of the Art!

The Theatre now has the most modern projection system, lighting system, and sound system -- as you would expect.

But you may not expect that we are installing a ticketing system that is used by many, many major venues.  When our new ShoWare system is up, patrons will be able to:

  1.  Visit our web site to see all scheduled events and performances.
  2.  See what seats are available in all sections of the theatre.
  3.  Select individual or multiple seats
  4.  Buy your selection online using any major credit card
  5.  Print your tickets at home, or pick them up at the box office, or even have them mailed your way.
  6. Handicapped ?  The same things apply for our handicapped patrons.  We have both  wheelchair spots and ADA compliant seats.

Hang on folks, it's starting to get very exciting.  Indeed.

January 24, 2012 - City of Merced transfers operation of the Theatre to the Merced Theatre Foundation.

December 22, 2011 - Carpet is installed.  House lighting is up and running.  Stage lighting is in the house.

A walk-through on December 22nd noted that there were around 150 spotlights (or more)  on the stage waiting to be installed.  There were speakers installed everywhere I looked in the auditorium.  The sound and lighting are both going to be fantastic!

December 9, 2011  The Theatre has seats!

Over 1100 seats have arrived and are installed.  Check on Facebook - search for Merced Theatre.

December 1, 2011  Bricks have been installed.

The bricks that were ordered by members of the community are now installed along the sidewalk on Martin Luther King, Jr Way.

You can purchase tickets online at our ticketing site, by calling our box office, or by visiting our box office at 301 W Main St Monday – Friday, 12pm – 5pm.

On the day of the show, our box office opens 2 hours prior to the doors opening. Doors open typically 1 hour prior to the show start time.

Our ticket fees are lower than most concert venues our size, and are the same whether you purchase by phone, at the box office or online. Fees go directly to pay for our ticketing system, and to support theatre events and maintenance.

WILL CALL:  Will Call tickets are available when the box office is open. To avoid the day-of-show line, you can pickup your ticket order at the box office during normal box office hours. We require a photo ID to pick up tickets. If you would like someone else to pick up your tickets, please email carmen@mercedtheatre.org

REFUNDS:  We do not offer refund or exchange on ticket purchases.

CHILDREN:  The Merced Theatre is an All Ages venue. We do discourage parents from bringing small children to shows not directed at their age. We do offer baby-sitting referral should you need a baby-sitter at the last minute. Any child entering the theatre is required to have a ticket.

PAYMENT METHODS: the box office accepts Visa, MasterCard and cash. We do not accept checks for the purchase of tickets.

WHEELCHAIR / HANDICAPPED SEATING:  There is seating available throughout the theatre for both handicapped and wheelchair patrons. To purchase these seats, please call or visit the box-office so that we can accommodate your needs.

YOUR ONLINE PROFILE:  Our ticketing system allows you to setup a profile for you so that any time you return to purchase tickets, all of your contact information is already available. We do not store your credit card information. And we do not share or sell your information to or with any other organization.
